Hi there!

So if you’re stopping by this page I’m guessing that you want to know a little bit about the person behind the keyboard.

Well I’m Deb, I’m an awkward 34 year old wife to an awesome, bearded nerd and mummy to an amazing 5 year old daughter and a cheeky little baby boy. I have many hobbies, love crafting and am an enemy to the stiletto heel! I’m also hoping to better myself by heading back to college in order to get my grades up and hopefully, figure out what I want to be when I grow up 😛

The reason that I started this blog was to document my family life and weight loss.

I wanted to write about my family because I think they are awesome but also so that we can have something to look back on over time and I wanted to write about my weight so that I can’t hide away from it. I feel that this will be a decent way for me to hold myself accountable for my health, the thinking that if someone … anyone, reads this, then I’m being held accountable to them too if that makes sense?!?! It would also be pretty awesome to meet like-minded people along the way so there is always the hope of that too.

So anyways, I wanted to lose the weight for a few reasons, the first being that I want to be healthier so that I can be the best version of myself possible for my kids, I want to be able to run, play and keep up with them – I also want to be a good role model for them so losing weight will help that too. I’d also really like to be able to shop off the rack in any shop in town, not just the one dedicated to plus size women and I’d love to feel happy and confident in my own skin for once (which I’m sure my hubby will benefit from … wink, wink!) and lastly, I needed to lose weight in order to be able to get fertility medication from the specialists at our hospital so that we could add to our family … that actually happened all on its own though which was a shock and a half!
